This policy sets out how you may and may not use MacroWA. It forms part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses your account, including your team members and anyone using your API keys. The account owner is responsible for making sure they follow it.
1. Consent and opt-out
Only message people who have agreed to hear from you. You must:
- get each recipient’s consent (opt-in) before you message them, for the kind of messages you send;
- keep a record of when and how each contact agreed;
- say who you are in your messages;
- honour every opt-out straight away. MacroWA supports opt-out keywords such as STOP and BERHENTI, and opt-in keywords such as YA and START. Opted-out contacts are not messaged;
- stop messaging anyone who asks you to stop in their own words, even if they do not use a keyword.
Do not try to get around an opt-out, for example by importing an opted-out contact again or messaging them from another number.
2. No spam
You must not:
- send messages to bought, rented, shared or scraped contact lists;
- send messages to numbers that were generated or guessed;
- send messages that mislead people about who you are or why you are contacting them;
- send messages more often than your contacts agreed to;
- use several numbers or accounts to get around limits, blocks or restrictions set by WhatsApp, Meta or us.
3. Prohibited content
You must not use MacroWA to send, promote or link to:
- scams, phishing, fake prizes or any message designed to trick people into giving money, passwords, one-time codes or personal data;
- illegal gambling or betting;
- illegal moneylending (Ah Long);
- unlicensed financial or investment schemes, including pyramid and Ponzi schemes;
- illegal drugs;
- weapons;
- counterfeit goods;
- adult or sexual content;
- content that insults race, religion or royalty;
- harassment, threats or abuse of any person;
- impersonation of banks, government agencies, other brands or any person;
- malware, or links to harmful websites;
- anything else that is illegal in Malaysia or in the recipient’s country.
4. Laws and WhatsApp policies
You must follow:
- the WhatsApp Business Terms, the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and the WhatsApp Commerce Policy, and any other WhatsApp or Meta terms that apply to your number;
- the Personal Data Protection Act 2010;
- the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998;
- any other law that applies to your business and your recipients.
These rules apply to both the QR-code connection and the official WhatsApp Business Platform. WhatsApp’s Commerce Policy also restricts goods and services that are not listed in section 3. Check it before you sell through WhatsApp.
5. Technical limits
You must not:
- overload, disrupt or attack MacroWA, our servers or our providers;
- try to get around rate limits, plan limits, security controls or opt-out handling;
- reverse engineer, decompile or copy MacroWA’s software, except where the law allows it;
- access accounts, data or parts of MacroWA that you are not allowed to access;
- share your API keys with people who are not allowed to use your account.
If you find a security issue, report it as described on our Security page.
6. How we enforce this policy
We look into reports and signs of misuse. If you breach this policy, we may, depending on how serious the breach is:
- warn you and ask you to fix the problem;
- pause your campaigns, automations or AI agents;
- suspend your account;
- terminate your account.
For serious breaches, such as scams, phishing or illegal moneylending, we may suspend or terminate your account at once, without warning. If we terminate your account for breaching this policy, the 30-day money-back guarantee no longer applies and no refund is given. See the Terms of Service.
When the law requires it, we cooperate with the authorities, such as the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). This may include giving them account details and records.
7. Reporting abuse
Anyone can report misuse, including people who are not MacroWA customers. Email [email protected] with:
- the sender’s WhatsApp number;
- the date and time you received the message;
- a screenshot of the message.
We look into every credible report. If you are a customer and notice misuse in your own account, for example by a team member, tell us too. More about reporting is in our Disclaimer.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects existing customers, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
This policy is available in English and Bahasa Melayu. If the two versions differ, the English version applies.
